- What separates IDC from existing anti-ageing products?
IDC is the only line of anti-aging cosmetic products that uses the Regen-16 patented technology, a technology that enables us to target the 16 main mechanisms of skin aging with a single corrective product. To do so, IDC uses numerous selected molecules (up to 100) to reactivate the skin mechanisms responsible for keeping your skin looking young, while moderating the mechanisms responsible for premature skin aging. IDC is unique and the first to use this integral global approach.
The effectiveness of this unique integral global approach has been tested clinically numerous times, on different continents and on various skin types. And our products are honest. Honest in their composition – we use more molecules at their optimal concentration; and honest in their claims – we do numerous clinical and consumer trials to back our anti-aging claims.
- What are some common mistakes you notice women make when it comes to their skincare regime?
They buy on impulse based on the latest marketing campaign a certain company makes, based on the high profile spokesperson they use or based on the high-tech expensive packaging they use for their often under concentrated formulation. A costumer should always ask questions to their skincare specialist, questions on the molecules included in the product they wish to purchase, on the concentration of cosmetic molecules present in the formulation (and indicated on the box) and on the clinical trials the manufacturer performed and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals to back the claims on their products.
- If there was one piece of advice you could give to women, what would it be?
Talk to your skincare specialist and again; ask questions, ask for facts (such as clinical studies, scientific papers that can substantiate the claims made by the product). You have the right to know what you are putting on your skin and most of all, you have the right to expect and obtain results.
- What are some key ingredients that women should look for in skincare products?
Gold standard molecules that have been tested clinically for their actual efficacy, such as retinol, vitamin C, coenzyme Q-10, matrixyl and hyaluronic acid. Other molecules also have amazing benefits, supported by clinical data and should be included in anti-ageing cosmetic products. Euk-134 is a highly potent antioxidant that also creates oxygen and water, abyssine and phytocell alp rose are anti-inflammatory extracts that increase the skin’s defence mechanisms, neutrazen is a peptide targeting neurogenic inflammation while resveratrol protects the cell against oxidation and DNA damages. Furthermore, numerous peptides and extracts bring additional benefits to a formulation, such as diminishing redness, wrinkles and the hyperpigmentation reaction of the skin, while others peptides and extracts increase firmness, energy and hydration.
However, instead of just focussing on a couple of cosmetic molecules, a customer should focus on two important things. Firstly, for the cosmetic product to actually be effective, it has to target the 16 main mechanisms involved in skin ageing. Not just 4, not 5 or not 6 - 16. To do so, it needs numerous molecules that work synergistically to bring back skin’s youthful equilibrium. Secondly, the chosen and advertised molecules have to be used at their optimal concentration for them to actually have a positive impact on the formulation.
- Have you noticed one common element among women with truly great skin? If so, what's their secret?
The majority of them have a balanced lifestyle: Good nutrition, enough sleep, steering away from stressful factors and avoiding smoking all have a good impact on the quality of one’s skin. They also follow a cosmetic routine every morning and night (cleanse, correct and hydrate) and they protect their skin from sun exposure. A healthy life, a healthy skin.
- Is there something Irish women in particular should be aware of when it comes to skincare?
Just like Canadian women, Irish women are authentic and are looking for results. Both have to face changes in their climate within the same year. Those changes are known to decrease moisture and effect skin’s mechanistical equilibrium. The loss of this equilibrium activates the aging process. The Irish woman should therefore chose cosmetic formulations to increase the moisture content of their skin while targeting the equilibrium of the 16 main mechanisms responsible for skin aging supported by clinical studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Also, for those who are prone to redness/rosacea, the first thing is to minimize aggravating factors, such as change of temperature or exposure to UV rays without strong SPF protection (min 25 SPF) (even on cloudy days). Our product, Redless has shown in peer-reviewed clinical testing a 50% reduction after 2 months of use. See our clinic study for before and after pictures and demonstration of results.
